Make the Most of Your Kitchen Space with a Microwave Under Cabinet
Kitchen space is often at a premium, and putting a microwave in a convenient spot can be a challenge. A microwave under cabinet can be the perfect solution. This type of microwave is mounted beneath the cabinet and can be easily accessed, while freeing up counter space.
Installing a microwave under cabinet is relatively simple. The cabinet should be sturdy and able to support the weight of the microwave. Measure the depth of the cabinet and purchase a microwave that will fit in the allotted space. Make sure to leave at least two inches of space between the top of the microwave and the bottom of the cabinet for ventilation.
Next, select the mounting hardware for the microwave and attach it securely to the bottom of the cabinet. If the cabinet is made of wood, use wood screws. If the cabinet is metal, use self-tapping screws. Make sure the mounting hardware is tight and secure.
Now it’s time to install the microwave. Some microwaves come with an installation kit, which includes a template to mark the hole that needs to be cut. Use a jigsaw to cut the hole in the cabinet, making sure it’s the right size for the microwave. Then slide the microwave into the hole and secure it with the mounting hardware.
The final step is to plug the microwave in. Depending on the model, the plug might be located in the back or on the side. If the plug is on the side, you may need an extension cord to reach the nearest outlet.
Having a microwave under cabinet is a great way to make the most of your kitchen space. It’s easy to install and will make accessing your microwave much easier. Plus, it will free up valuable counter space for other kitchen tasks.
